IIT Kharagpur – Indias First High Class Technical Institute

The Indian institute of technology in Kharagpur, eastern India is the first technical institute at this level set up by the government of free India. Post independence, the Indian government wanted to set up colleges where high technical education were imparted and in which students will be exposed to the highest standards of exposure and expertise in technical education.
