BMW, a German brand who would probably the first auto brand that would manufacture and produce such auto’s and vehicles that are capable of being driven with the help of hydrogen in these type of vehicles, hydrogen would be used as a fuel and most probably this model of BMW would hit the streets of the country in the late 2008. The BMW hydrogen powered cars are in news now a days as it would be a new race of technology that would start out after the introduction of this model. If we take a look upon the idea of a hydrogen car then you would come to know that in 2000, General Motors made an announcement that they were working on a car that would use hydrogen as a fuel.
At that time many experts have a view that this idea could be easily copied and there is no hurdle in producing a vehicle that is based on this idea. In 2004, BMW Company has announced that they would probably launch a hydrogen-based car in late 2008 and now they are on their way to produce first hydrogen fleet car. Currently the cost of hydrogen cells is very high but the technology is continuously advancing and the time is not so far when the price of these hydrogen cells would be in the range of customer. Range of customer could be defined as that range which is lower then the current fuel so probably such time would come in the coming future soon.
Only one problem is coming in launching BMW hydrogen powered cars is that the storage of hydrogen is very complicated and time consuming. The company is currently working on storage of hydrogen in the cells so that they would launch their car as soon as possible. Now-a-days, the storage as well as the production of these cells is kind of headache for the company so they are concentrating on this problem and as they could take upon these issues they would definitely launch their new model in the market.
