How Can i Find People

Finding people is not as tough as it was 50 or 100 years ago. It is so easy to find people these days that it is as easy as finding oneself, pun intended of course. Look at this way a hundred years ago or perhaps even before that, when we used to live in a world without electricity, television, radio or computers finding someone was possible only through word of mouth. It used to take months, often years for words to be relayed and information transmitted back to us. A job as simple as finding a plumber to fix a broken tap took as long as making a new one. The job of finding people was confined to a small area or location and was more often than not, done by the person in need themselves. Today the situation has changed drastically and we do not as a rule, ponder ‘How can I find people’?

The 20th century saw a dramatic rise in the number of scientific inventions and technological innovations. The process is continuing in this century also with discoveries made every single day.Finding people today is as easy as snapping a finger. We have telephones and yellow pages, we can advertise through print media, radio and television. We have the internet on which by using one of the many search engines, we can find who or what we are looking for. Places even as remote as Siberia or the north pole are as not as distant and inaccessible as it was before. With sophisticated satellites and GPS, we can even access the most remote of locations. The world has become such a small place that is impossible to stay hidden for a long time. So now the right question to be asked is ‘How can I hide from people’? Instead of ‘How can I find people’?
