Lets us learn how to build a simple toy with a simple of paper. Also called Aerogami, after origami, it is one of the easiest types of origami. Other than the fun of flying a paper airplane, these simple paper planes were used as tests to develop flying real-life aircraft ideas.

You will need a simple rectangular sheet of paper to build a paper plane. The size does not matter and the paper can be at least 20 Lb. bond or copy paper.

Take the paper as described above. Fold the left hand corner and crease with slight pressure. Now fold the right hand corner over the left and crease again. Now open at the crease slightly and carefully close the sides inwards. Now fold down the centerline.

Now take the tip of the left corner and fold upwards. Repeat with the other side; crease to form a diamond shape.

Take the two corners of the diamond shape and fold point back and crease. The two corners of the diamond shape have to be turned only 2/3 of the way. Now take the left and right corners of the diamond shape and tuck it under the flaps.

Turn the plane over and fold the point back and turn over.

Now for the tail, crease the extra paper and carefully tear the length of the paper.

Take this strip of paper and fold it in the middle. Tear it again half way along the breadth of the tail to form control surfaces. Fold the tail in the middle and return to the airplane.

Fold the wings of the plane to get a slot under the wings. Insert the tail here and your paper airplane is ready to fly!
