How to Cook Lobster and What are the Ways to Make a Lobster Luscious

A lobster can be eaten in many ways. It can be eaten with rice, bread or as a separate entity. Lobster meat is considered a delicacy and an aphrodisiac by many. Lobster meat is one of the most sought after meat of the seafood variety. Lobster can be cooked in many ways. Grilling, boiling, steaming and frying are some of the common methods employed to cook lobster.


Boiling a live lobster is always a sensitive issue to many. You can refrigerate the lobster prior to boiling it to numb its senses. Start by heating water to a boiling point in a large vessel. The vessel should be large enough to completely immerse the lobster in it. Hold the tail of alive lobster and immerse it into the boiling water headfirst. Let the lobster boil in the water till it is completely cooked and done. Check the meat and if it is white in color then the lobster is well done. Serve hot with any accompaniment of your choice. Grilling a lobster is also another way to cook lobster. In this method boil the lobster in water first. Remove the lobster from the water and cut the lobster in the middle. Remove the black vein that runs down its middle. Pre heat the grill to a medium temperature, baste the lobster with lemon juice and butter and place it in the grill. A thorough 10 minutes grilling is enough to make a delicious grilled lobster dish.

Likewise, you can also cook a lobster by steaming it. Put the lobster on a steaming rack over a bed of boiling water. Cover the pot holding the steaming rack with lid and let it boil further for another 10 minutes. Remove the lobster from the steaming rack and test to see if the meat is cooked. Steamed lobster is very nutritious as this cooking process ensures that all nutrients remain intact. Fried lobster is another wonderful delicacy. Onions, garlic and herbs are sautéed in oil and boiled lobster is added to this. The lobster is deep fried in any oil of your choice till the outer shells crumble and the meat inside is soft and white in color. Tocook lobster is easier than eating one but once eaten, the benefits are many and the taste great!
