To cook potatoes is perhaps one of the easiest cooking jobs one can find. Potatoes can be cooked in numerous ways. Roasting, boiling and braising are some of the common ways to cook potatoes. Make small chunks of potatoes after peeling them. Roast them in an oven using high heat. Put the potatoes on a pan and add oil or fat. Leave them uncovered and let it cook. Put the cut pieces in oil on a pan and deep-fry it till the potatoes become crispy. You have delicious French fries ready by this method. You can also make delicious pancakes with potatoes. To cook potatoes this way, grate some potatoes and mix it with flour to make patties. Put the patties in oil and deep-fry them. Take the patties away from the fire when the potatoes become crispy and brown. You have delicious potato brownies this way.
Perhaps the easiest and most nutritive way to cook potatoes is to simply boil them with their jackets. Put whole potatoes with their skins in water and boil them till they are soft and tender inside. The boiled potatoes can be flavored by adding chunks of grated cheese or butter. Salt can be added in the water when boiling the potatoes. This dish is very nutritive, as the potatoes do not lose any of their nutrients during the cooking process. Thus, we can see there are many ways to cook potatoes and by using our creativity and imagination, we can make delicious dishes with this carbohydrate rich vegetable.
