The 14th February. I am sure you all know that it’s the time to spend some money on your beloved to show your love and care. The best way to show your love is either by buying a box of chocolate or a dozen of roses that says out loud be mine forever, and the best part is that it is comparatively cheaper and easily available. It looks so simple when you buy roses from the market but when asked to make an icing of rose in the cake, you can’t even make the outer line. Now, in this small tutorial you will learn how to draw a simple rose? Drawing rose is not an easy job; in fact it is among the hardest flower to draw.

In this small lesson we will learn how to draw a simple rose very easily. Before you start drawing, it is very important to keep few pictures of the subject (here rose) so that it becomes easier for you to draw. The picture of the rose has 2 angles: the sides and the petals from above. This article will help you to draw from both the angles, but before that we have to understand the structure of a rose. Now, we begin with how to draw a rose when viewed from above? The first step in the making of the rose involves drawing a rough pentagon figure. You can make a circle instead of making very straight lines and then use it as a channel to mark five points in equal distances separately along the outer of the circle, as a rose has normally 5 outer petals. The second step in drawing a rose involves drawing five big petals extending in the center ofthe rose . Now keep on adding more and smaller petals side by side to the middle, with each layer comprising five overlapping petals. Lastly, draw in arched edges to the petals in order to create a real look and add colors as desired. Adding color to your drawing will give it a more natural look and it will look like a clicked picture from the camera. Now we will know how todraw a rose when viewed from the sides? The drawing of the rose here involves a simple shape, but time it is an egg shape. After drawing an egg shape, keep adding few overlapping external petal, curling outwards at the top along with the flower leaves which are not developed fully and the stalk. After following all the instructions, you get to know the basic elements involved in drawing a rose.

Therefore, always keep in mind that each drawing starts with few very simple shapes- lines, circles etc. and do not try to include any feature unless you have made an outline. With a bit of practice you will notice that you can draw anything, no matter what!
