Welcome to the land of sunny tropical weather every day of the year – the Bahamas Island. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Caribbean with 700 islands and 2000 cays. Come to the most visited island in the Bahamas, the island of New Providence. The capital Nassau is on this island and is filled with many resorts, hotels, casinos, shopping malls, markets, bars and clubs. It has many remnants of the British rule and you can take a tour of the city and check out the historic architecture. Visit the Nassau Public Library and Museum and the Pirates of Nassau Museum. Some of the markets worth mentioning are the Straw Market, one of the largest in the world, selling everything from straw hats to dolls and other straw goods and Potter’s Cay Market, which offers some wonderful bargains for the avid shopper.
Hop on to the Paradise Island and see the mega Atlantis Resort. Take a free tour of the Bacardi Rum Factory. One of the must-see attractions here is the Lucayan National Park, which has the world’s longest underwater cave system. Enjoy a picnic at the Peterson Cay National Park. For shoppers, there are many options like the International Bazaar, the Port Lucaya Marketplace and Marina.
Next, you can visit Earnest Hemmingway’s hometown, the island of Biminis. Other than the famous Compleat Angler Hotel and Bar, you also have good spots for fishing as it is the best place for fishing in the world.
